Accio Consult and Construct, one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplined, specialist construction companies, embarks upon a nationwide programme to deliver Fire Compliance works in support of Virgin Media O2 and Liberty Global (LG).
The project commenced in October 2022 and covers around 600 office locations UK-wide. Accio has 10 teams allocated on a rolling programme of works and has currently completed Fire Compliance in over 60 locations. The scope of works includes all elements of Fire Compartmentation in both office and secure access technical buildings. The extensive compartmentation works involves repair and installation of fire cavity barriers, including the installation of fire curtains, sealing around both service penetrations and fire lines for internal cabling and utilities throughout the buildings. As part of the scheme, the fire doors, frames, and ancillary items are assessed and repaired, remediated or replaced to achieve a fully compliant building compartmentation line.
All work undertaken by the Accio teams is subject to full survey and compliance review by a trained inspector to define the scope of works requirement on each site. Sample reviews for walls is also completed to ensure the overall compliance is achieved on completion of the proposed remedial work. As part of both the fire life and asset safety strategy, all technical estate premises are also subject to Room Integrity Testing for the Fire Suppression Systems to ensure that in the event of a fire, the room’s containment is sufficient to ensure the effectiveness of the extinguishing system.
Final Fire Compliance testing and sign-off is undertaken on each site by an external 3rd Party, with Accio achieving 100% compliance of works conducted in all the 60 sites completed to-date.
