As ongoing structural issues continue to impact buildings nationwide, Accio were approached by a client to undertake an operationally critical project to erect a demountable structure as their existing building requires urgent repairs. Accio responded to this enquiry from the client and were on site within 2 days to commence work. The project was completed and handed over 7 days later, with 600sqm of fully heated and illuminated clear space made available.
Aside from the urgency involved, there were significant challenges overcome by the project team. These included limited site access, mobilising of the supporting subcontractors (electricians, heating engineers) and our own construction team plus the short notice sourcing of materials to deliver the agreed project scope of works. Construction complexity was exacerbated by the client requirement for the building to meet the internal Finished Floor Level (FFL) of the existing permanent building, at 1.2 metres high. To resolve the issue, Accio deployed a heavy deck suspended floor platform system, which took only one day to install and has a load rating of 10kn per square metre.
Access and handover certificates were issued, and all work is DDA and Buildings Regulations compliant, providing an inclusive, safe, and secure workspace. Accio conducted the work within a busy, operationally critical, working environment and with the urgent project completed without disruption to the client’s ongoing operations.
Accio remains on standby to support organisations and authorities, nationwide, with the immediate provision of tailored demountable structures erected at short notice.
