As part of our campaign to support local good causes, Accio is proud to be sponsoring Crowland Juniors FC (U9’s) football team. This weekend’s away game on Saturday 16th September against Boston United U9’s provided an exciting and close encounter, with end-to-end entertainment and a fantastic game. There were many memorable and fun moments for all the kids involved.
Crowland Juniors FC is a friendly village club established in 1972 who play their home matches at Snowden Field, Crowland. The club have junior football teams who currently compete from U7’s through to U16’s in the Peterborough & District Junior Alliance Football League. There are currently 9 teams each having a manager/coach and an assistant manager. In addition to the 18 adults directly involved with the teams, there is a large background team that does everything from clearing the pitches of rubbish before each session, running the tea bar and clearing up afterwards. As you can see, this is an outstanding community effort in support of the kids in the area.

The Crowland Juniors FC have FA qualified and dedicated coaching staff who always welcome new players, boys and girls, to join the different age groups. The club provides football training for over 100 children every week of the year.
The club also conducts fundraising throughout the year which includes helping with the Crowland Lions with their Santa Sleigh round and having a presence at events such as the Christmas Light Switch On. For the last 2 years they have hosted a Mini Soccer Tournament for under 6s and 7s which involves around 300 people.
The club is proud to be a Football Association Charter Standard Club that follows the principles of the FA Respect campaign. Within these principles, Crowland Juniors FC aims to develop all players in a fun, safe and structured environment, which is consistent across all ages and abilities. The ethos is to always try to encourage creative and imaginative football, and develop players’ physical, social, technical and psychological aspects of the games, consistent with the Football Association best practice.
